This week in Australian technology news: Apple revealed over 500000 iPads have been sold in the US, causing a shortage and delaying international launch, whilst Telstra unveiled its T-hub device which will hit stores later this month. Google approached the US Government about Australia’s plans to filter the internet, Optus was hit by a DDoS attack and rumours of an agreement being met between Telstra and the NBN for Telstra’s infrastructure proved false. John XXIII College’s winning entry to the Interhall “40 hours of film” competition, ie this short was completed from start to finish in under 40 hours. Starring Brody Warren and Amelia Scott. Produced, edited and directed by Caitlin Hodder, Hannah Wood, Mayank Daswani, Edmund Hogan, Brody Warren and Amelia Scott. The song used is Signs by Bloc Party. The films for the competition had to be based on 3 stimulii, 1. a can 2. the stone ball in a cage outside the civic shopping center 3. The quote by John B. Bogart, “When a dog bites a man, that is not news, because it happens so often. But if a man bites a dog, that is news.”
